Community Adult Learning Council

Forst Saskatchewan/Strathcona County

To Whom it may concern:

The Forst Saskatchewan/Strathcona county Community Adult Learning Council is pleased to provide a reference for David Grauwiler.  The coucil offers programming that is education in content, part time, non-credit and for adults over 18 years of age.

For the past three years we have contracted David to provide two programs in Strathcona County.  "Sanity, Parenting Teens in the New Millennium" a six week course and "Single Again, Parenting Teens as a Single Parent" an introductory four hour course.  Both of these programs were developed by David to meet the requested needs of our community.

Our Council supports David's application to become a professional develpment speaker in your district.  His experience as a youth support worker in public schools and in the human sevices field together with his own practice "Empower Alberta", allows David to speak on a variety of topics.

Participants have commented that David isvery open and resourceful, very funny, entertaining and informative.  Other comments from past year are David has empowered us with very useful tools, nonjudgmental, great presentation style for presenntations and open and honest about his own family and life situations.  In all instances it appears that everyone who attended felt that they would be able to use the handouts for reference over and over again.

Sincerely

Dear Dave

Thank you so much for your presentation on Family Violence and it's impact on children for our families at KARA.  It was so nice to have someone present that was knowledgaeable and could also connect with our families at their level.

I felt your presentation was flexible and yet informative and we had very positive feedback from the familes on your presentation.

I hope that we can call on you again in the future to present again with another group of familes.

Fort Saskatchewan High School

I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to Dave Grauwiler for the time that he has taken to speak to the CALM 20 classes at Fort Saskatchewan High School.  Dave speaks authoritatively on the importance of "Healthy Teen Relationships".  Students become quickly involved in the pertinent infromation of healthy, unhealthy and abusive relationships.

Dave has excellent rapport with the students and his interactive style keeps their attention focused on the topic.  He is an energetic speaker with excellent presentation skills.  He uses relevant examples and statistics on what constitutes a healthy relationship that students understand.  He is a spokesman and advocate for "A Safe Place" and it role in the community.

It has been a pleasure to have dave as a speaker/presenter on the topic of healthy relationships.

Sincerely

Mary Jones

Re: Reference for David Grauwiler

This is to inform you that I have had the pleasure of teaching with Mr. Grauwiler for the past several weeks.  He has been working as a teacher aide/ youth support worker in my grade eight language arts class room.  His position has been with a grade eight male student who has behavioral and learning difficulties.  I modified this particular students program to suit his needs and Mr. Grauwiler executed my modifications.

I found Mr. Grauwiler to be exceptional in this task. His expertise in fulfilling his position has resulted in this students growth and success in grade eight.  The student was able to complete all four core subjects because of Mr. Grauwilers guidance and dedication.  Please that this particular student is not always easy to instruct or deal with in other settings within a school environment.  Mr. Grauwilers talents, patience and maturity brought exceptional results.

Mr. Grauwiler would be a definite asset to any staff as he works with all ages and types of people in very professional manner.  His interpersonal skills are well developed and to be admires.

If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact me.

Yours truly,

Marilyn Hendrickson
